I had similarly up front parents, and am pretty honest, but I have a 3.5 year old and there are definitely times when I dodge questions because right this second in a huge crowd is just maybe not the time and place to explain the nuances of duck mating. Ok fair enough! Thanks for the perspective. Putting a hold on the talk until you're at home is fine. I suppose my objection is when parents won't discuss it with children and especially when they expect the world to change to accommodate their weird hangups.
