To me, M'baku would see that as disrespectful. He'd certainly honor, and perhaps grieve for, T'challa, but he would not let the throne pass to someone out of sentiment. I could see them go either way honestly. On the one hand it would be fitting and I'd love to see Shuri with the mantle, but on the other hand having to explain that T'Challa also died will be pretty painful for many young fans.
